Woody Allen Announces the Cast of His Latest Film: James Belushi, Juno Temple, Justin Timberlake, Kate Winslet

NEW YORK (July 7, 2016) – Woody Allen officially revealed the cast of his new untitled feature film starring James Belushi (“The Whole Truth,” “Twin Peaks”), Juno Temple (“Black Mass,” “Vinyl”), Justin Timberlake (“The Social Network,”“Inside Llewyn Davis”), and Kate Winslet (“Steve Jobs,” “The Reader”). The new film is produced by his long-time collaborator Letty Aronson, Erika Aronson, and Edward Walson. It begins shooting this fall in New York.

“Café Society,” Allen’s latest completed film, made its world premiere earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival and stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carrell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll, and Ken Stott. Amazon Studios and Lionsgate will release the film in theaters on July 15 in New York and Los Angeles with a national theatrical expansion to follow. After its theatrical run, “Café Society” will be available exclusively to Amazon Prime members through Prime Video.

Additionally, Allen is in post on his first-ever television show -- an untitled six-episode series he wrote and directed for Amazon starring himself, Miley Cyrus, and Elaine May. It will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video later this year.

Woody Allen’s Upcoming Untitled Film Acquired by Amazon Studios

The Romantic Comedy, starring Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott, will be released theatrically this summer.

NEW YORK, NY (February 18, 2016) – Woody Allen’s latest as yet untitled feature film has been acquired for all North American rights, including theatrical and streaming, by Amazon Studios. The film, shot last summer on location in New York and Los Angeles, is a romantic comedy staged in the 1930s and stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll, and Ken Stott.

Amazon will open the film this summer with a traditional, nationwide theatrical release. Following its theatrical run, it will become available exclusively to Prime members through Prime Video.

“Like all beginning relationships, there is much hope, mutual affection, and genuine goodwill -- the lawsuits come later,” said Allen.

Allen is also writing and directing an untitled six-episode television series for Amazon starring himself, Elaine May, and Miley Cyrus. It is executive produced by Erika Aronson, produced by Helen Robin, and begins shooting next month.

Producers of the new film include Allen’s longtime collaborator, Letty Aronson, as well as Steve Tenenbaum and Edward Walson. Executive producers are Ronald L. Chez, Adam B. Stern, and Marc I. Stern. The deal was negotiated by John Burnham and Jessica Lacy of ICM Partners, Erika Aronson of Taborlake, and Loeb & Loeb on behalf of the filmmakers.

Woody Allen Announces Additional Cast for His Amazon Original Series

NEW YORK (March 16, 2015) - Today, Woody Allen revealed additional actors who will appear in his first-ever television series, an untitled six-episode project that he is creating with Amazon Studios. The cast includes familiar names and faces such as Becky Ann Baker (Girls), Lewis Black (The Daily Show), Margaret Ladd (Falcon Crest), Joy Behar (The View), Rebecca Schull (Wings), David Harbour (Black Mass), Christine Ebersole (Amadeus), and Michael Rapaport (Mighty Aphrodite).

Also starring in the Untitled Woody Allen Project TV series are Allen, Elaine May, Miley Cyrus, John Magaro, and Rachel Brosnahan who were previously announced. Production began in New York this month. The show is executive produced by Erika Aronson and produced by Helen Robin. Amazon will premiere the Untitled Woody Allen Project exclusively on Amazon Prime Video later this year.

On the film side, Amazon Studios recently announced its acquisition of Allen’s latest untitled feature for all North American rights, including theatrical and streaming. The 1930s romantic comedy stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll, and Ken Stott. Amazon Studios Signs Woody Allen to Create His First Television Series Ever

SEATTLE — January 13, 2015 — (NASDAQ: AMZN) — Amazon Studios today announced it has signed the critically-acclaimed Director Woody Allen to write and direct his first television series ever. Untitled Woody Allen Project, a half-hour series, has received a full season order and episodes will be written and directed by Allen. Customers will initially be able to see the series exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the US, UK and Germany.. Additional details, including casting information will be made available in the future.

Woody Allen’s New Film is Titled “Magic in the Moonlight”

NEW YORK (October 15, 2013) – Woody Allen’s new film is titled Magic in the Moonlight. Set in the South of France, it stars Eileen Atkins, Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamish Linklater, Simon McBurney, Emma Stone and Jacki Weaver; and co-stars Erica Leerhsen, Catherine McCormack, Paul Ritter and Jeremy Shamos. The Gravier Productions film is produced by Allen’s longtime associates, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.

Allen’s latest film, Blue Jasmine, is currently in theatrical release through Sony Pictures Classics.

Woody Allen Announces Cast of His Latest Film, Set in San Francisco and New York

NEW YORK (June 4, 2012) – Woody Allen announced today the cast of his latest untitled film. Starring, in alphabetical order, are Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins and Peter Sarsgaard. Co-stars include Max Casella and Alden Ehrenreich. It is a Gravier Productions film produced by Allen’s long time producers, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.

The new film will be shot in New York and San Francisco this summer. This marks Allen’s second time directing in San Francisco -- his directorial debut, 1969’s TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, was also set there.

Allen recently won an Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay for MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. His upcoming film, TO ROME WITH LOVE, will be released on June 22 by Sony Pictures Classics.

NEW YORK (April 22, 2010) – In a rare move, Woody Allen revealed today the title, cast and story details for his latest film in pre-production. MIDNIGHT IN PARIS stars Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates and Carla Bruni. Also in the cast are Michael Sheen, Nina Arianda, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy and Kurt Fuller. The film shoots this summer in Paris.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is a romantic comedy that follows a family travelling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures. It is part of a three-picture financing deal between Allen’s Gravier Productions and Mediapro, the Spain-based company which also funded Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and the upcoming “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” to be released domestically by Sony Pictures Classics this fall.
