WILD MAN BLUES

SYNOPSIS

WILD MAN BLUES, a feature-length documentary by two-time Academy Award-winner Barbara Kopple, tracks Woody Allen and his New Orleans-style jazz band through a whirlwind European tour. As in such celebrated films as American Dream and Harlan County USA, Kopple’s camera provides an intimate view, capturing people at their most relaxed and informal. That the subject of WILD MAN BLUES is the famously private Woody Allen marks it as a singular event in the careers of two virtuoso filmmakers, as Kopple goes behind the scenes to offer rare glimpses of Allen as he really is, in hotel rooms, in swimming pools, wrestling with faulty plumbing, breakfasting with Soon-Yi in matching bathrobes.
